WhOEVER YOU ARE, WHEREVER YOU ARE ON LIFE'S JOURNEY, YOU ARE WELCOME HERE!
New to Our Church?
When we say "All Are Welcome," we truly mean it. The 245 members of the Orinda Community Church, OCC, cherish a spiritual heritage of faith and fellowship rooted in the Protestant Reformation and carried forward in the contemporary United Church of Christ. People of all ages, traditions, and faith backgrounds are here, exploring this journey of faith together.
Services are every Sunday at 10 am, and last a little over an hour. Coffee is served after church. Our worship leans toward traditional, yet incorporates a variety of styles and creative elements. Dress varies from casual to formal. Like we said: "All Are Welcome."
Children above the age of 4 normally start in church with their parents, and leave a third of the way through the service for church school. There is childcare for the littlest ones in our Nursery, starting at 9:50.
Leadership at the Orinda Community Church is shared by elected lay leaders, and the pastoral staff. The Rev. Jim Brommers Bergquist is our Senior Minister, and is assisted by our seminarian Kelsey Peterson. The music program is run by David Milnes, renowned conductor and Professor of Music at UC Berkeley.
The church is self-governing, led by an elected Church Council, with major decisions decided in all-member votes.
