Orinda Community Church celebrates the many community organizations in our region that serve those in need.  Our justice work can take many forms according to the gifts and passions of church members and contemporary issues both locally and globally.  Below are a list of organizations with whom we are grateful to work collaboratively.

Winter Nights

The church offers its space to the families sheltering with Winter Nights for a period of weeks each year.  We work to support Winter Nights in helping families to gain housing, schooling, and employment. Winter Nights prtects homeless families by providing shelter in a clean, safe, and warm environment and help families break the homelessness cycle by assisting them toward self-sufficiency and into stable housing.

Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity

We have partnered with Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity to accompany undocumented immigrant families and offer housing assistance.

Common Hope

Orinda Community Church has a long relationship with Common Hope, financing a home for a family in Guatemala each year, and sometimes traveling to Guatemala for work trips. Individual congregation members sponsor young students and their educational needs.

Hope Solutions

Hope Solutions works to end homelessnesss with housing and support services.  We work with them via student backpack drives, Christmas gift drives, community dinners, and in a variety of other activities.

Through MFAC, we have contacted local government officials, affirmed our support for bills that promote housing justice, and come into relationship with housing organizations throughout the Bay Area.

Trinity Center

Trinity Center is a nonresidential program that offers vital safety net services to vulnerable and unhoused people in Contra Costa County.  We have supported their mission by gathering supplies like socks and belts, and also emergency rain supplies.

Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County
